“Hey, you, get off my cloud, you don’t know me, and you don’t know my style.”

Method Man aka Johnny Blaze – Method Man, Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers

I am not getting into a deep breakdown of these lyrics. Basically, the M.E.T.H.O.D. Man is saying: I am living my best life. I see you trying to bring me down. You do not live in my world and do not get an opinion on the way I voice myself. Eff off.

It can be someone in your workplace, a friend or a family member or a follower of your social media. Regardless, they have expressed a view for one reason or another. It is just a view and nothing more.

Some people just have a hard time sharing in happiness, hard work or success. It is easier to point out the negative to try to bring you to their lower level. Whatever they say, it is only a reflection of their own insecurities and/or trauma.

Remember the memorable intro to the Method Man song…you know what happens if something keeps feeding you and feeding you…Do not torture yourself. You are the one with the real power to consciously choose how others affect you.

Let the haters wallow in their bitterness. At the end of the day, they made you a stronger person. A person that continues to build a life and a business and recognizes your own worth, all without their approval. 👐
